First off, let me thank all of you for your continued support and interest even as my output seems to have slowed.
Slowed it has not! I have been in the studio making some real progress, recording new songs, finishing old ones and all in all coming very close to finishing my upcoming debut, "Sparkle Plenty" !!! In the next few months you will get *the* email...... the album release one, and I can't wait for that!
The Verity Room is on Topanga between Sherman Way & Saticoy, on the West side of the street. It is the back room of the Guitar Merchant.... on the corner is a piano store and the Guitar Merchant is next door. It is a little hard to find and Guitar Merchant always looks closed. But once you walk in and go toward the back, you will find a really cool new spot which showcases local art and has great sound!
There is plenty of parking on Topanga or in the alley behind guitar Merchant. I go on at 10pm but the other performers are starting at 8, so come out early and support local artists. It is an all-female performance night, and I will be with the full band, including Justin Fields on the bass!
After all that work had been lost in the studio, I took a break from recording and focused on other things for a while. However, the time has come for me to kick things into high gear again. I promised a kick-ass album, and a kick-ass album I'll deliver.
Happy New Year!
I had hoped to have the album finished by the end of the year, but that's pretty much impossible at this point.
A hard drive here in the studio failed last week, destroying work on multiple unfinished songs. We're trying to salvage everything we can, but almost all of the work we've done on mixing the songs has been lost. I still don't know whether or not the orignal recordings are backed up or usable, or if we'll have to try and replace them.
The album project formerly known as my unnamed album shall now forever be known as - Sparkle Plenty!
My luck just keeps on getting better. Byl Carruthers, of Cafe R&B fame, has joined me in the studio, laying down bass and guitar tracks like no other! I can't wait till you guys can hear some of these tracks, and I hope to have some new stuff posted real soon.
Progress on my soon to be named (hopefully) album is coming along great. I'm honored to say that Tim Kobza has been in the studio laying down guitar tracks for mutiple songs, and everything he's been doing is fantastico!
I know I said may not be doing many live shows, but I'm just a terrible liar. Two more shows have been added, including a short notice appearance at Zen Sushi in 3 days time. Be there, or be square.
Work has now officially begun on my yet-to-be-named-album, there's no turning back! Also, it's bit of a drive, unless of course you live in Lake Hughes, but I'll be playing the Rock Inn coming up at the end of the month. When I'm done, it'll be the Rocking Inn, so make it if you can.
I've been doing a lot of writing recently. So much writing, in fact, that I've decided to take the work I've been doing on Demo Love and turn it into a feature length album. This is going to be a big project, and it's probably going to cut into my gig schedule a little, but it's going to be worth it.
An upcoming show added for 12/20/05. Come see me and A Few Good Men rock the place.
I will be playing a SOLO ACOUSTIC set to cap off this night of female
singer/ songwriters. Come on down and see the folk in my soul.
And then, my friends, I will drink a liter of cold frothy beer for you all at Oktoberfest and I will see you again, refreshed and ready to rock in
the fall.
A couple of changes to the upcoming gigs. Weber's was pushed back to 08/19 and a new gig was added at the M Bar on 07/16.
It'll be MMMM MMMMM Good!
Three new shows added to the upcoming shows list! All of them are 21 and over, but only the on on 08/21 has a cover charge. The others are FREE, FREE, FREE!
I've got a show coming up soon. I'll have Patrick Schettler & most of The Archbishops backing me up, so it should rock!
Video of one of my gigs in San Diego is available here.
Two dates in San Diego added to Upcoming Shows.
Only Time added to the music page!!!!!!!!!
